A Day in the Life: Insight to the Life of an Average HUMSS Student
Hi! I am Jeff Rojel S. Dean and I am a student at Philippine Christian University Dasmariñas enrolled in the Humanities and Social Science strand. I am here to tell you about the average day of a HUMSS student!☺
A day in the life of an average HUMSS student is not that special. I start my day waking up to a bright sunny morning soaking up the sun while it is as healthy as possible. Exposure to sunlight can provide Vitamin D that prevents chronic diseases. So I try to soak up the sun while it’s healthy but not for too long. 🌞
- Then after a few minutes in the sun I start to do my home works in the morning. I find it more productive to do my assignments in the morning compared to later in the day for a better and clearer mind. I like to start doing my assignments in the morning so that when I go back home there’s nothing for me to do but just sleep and do my normal chores.😏
- After that, I start to get ready for school, I brush my teeth, take a bath, have lunch, and put on my uniform. This process usually takes me about 30-40 mins to do depending on what circumstances there are during that day such as my dog making a mess or someone is still using the bathroom, etc.
- After the preparations I go on my way to school at about 10 o’ clock in the morning to avoid traffic as I live fairly far from my school. My journey to school usually consists of walking, taking a tricycle, jeeps, and more walking so I fairly get my cardio in on my way to school.
After approximately one and half hour of journey to my school I finally arrive ready to take on the challenges of school and my strand Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS).
What is HUMSS strand:
HUMSS strand is one of many strands that are being offered in K-12 here in the Philippines. This strand focuses on improving students' speaking, reading, writing, and overall confidence. So this strand mainly abolishes my insecurities and helps me improve no matter how hard or how difficult it is for me each day I go to school in order for me to achieve my dreams.
After a grueling but fun day at school I go back home and repeat the same tasks I did in the morning such as brush my teeth, take a bath, eat dinner, and sleep. Sleep is essential for us to restore the energy that we lost throughout the day. So, it’s essential that we go to sleep early and recover as much as possible to have energy for tomorrow's endeavors and repeat the same process again.
Even though my day in the life is simple as I am not particularly a “fun” person I always make sure to try my hardest at everything I do because I have a promise to fulfill and a dream to catch. I always remind myself to never give up and to continue persevering so I will also do the same for the readers. Do not give up! No matter how hard life gets, remember that you got this and remember the reason why you’re fighting. As I conclude this Blog I want to convey a long quote from me.
"Life always throws us challenges, but always remember to face them with confidence and determination. These challenges are an opportunity for us to grow and learn, allowing us to progress on our journey. If you feel like giving up, remember that every obstacle in your way has a purpose and that if you overcome them you will only be closer to your dreams. Keep pushing forward! Don't Give Up!
